The Bible Society of Zambia bemoans corruption in Government
The Bible Society of Zambia says that, what the country has been witnessing is a cancer that the church must preach against.
General Secretary Dr. Abraham Chikasa said, when a society grapples with issues of corruption, service and contract overpricing and many other bad vices, it essentially means that the nation has a challenge with integrity issues.
Dr. Chikasa said that today, in sub-sahara Africa, the corruption which was estimated at us$ 150 billion a year does not seem to lessen or the situation to improve
He was speaking during the sensitization meeting for Church Leaders, Government officials, civil society organization and the media on the value of integrity in livingstone recently.
Dr. Chikasa said that corruption was a cancer that the church must preach against off adding that all those engaged in such practices were children of the church.
He wondered were the values and morals which the country’s forefathers fought for during the old days have gone to. He said God’s theology was not only a consideration of the now but the impact of the future generation, therefore integrity does not live in a vacuum.
