Bible Society of Zambia Shines at Ndola Trade Fair

The bustling grounds of the Zambia International Trade Fair in Ndola came alive this week, not just with the usual display of commercial products and services, but with a message of hope and transformation. Among the many exhibitors, the Bible Society of Zambia (BSZ) stood out as a beacon of faith and cultural heritage.

Positioned strategically in the exhibition hall, the Bible Society’s stand attracted a steady stream of visitors — young and old, families, students, and business leaders — all curious to see what the organization had brought to the country’s biggest trade showcase.

More than just Bibles on display, the stand featured an inspiring range of local language translations, children’s Bibles, large print editions for the elderly, and specialized study Bibles. Interactive digital platforms were also showcased, including Bible apps and audio Scriptures designed to make God’s Word accessible to everyone, regardless of literacy level or location.

“We believe that the Trade Fair is not just for commerce, but a place where we can engage with the nation and share something eternal,” said Mr. Chishimba, one of the Society’s staff at the booth. “Our presence here is about connecting people to the Word of God in formats that speak to their everyday lives.”

One of the most touching moments during the exhibition was when the Bible Society team presented a free Good News Bible to Janet Zulu, a vulnerable Grade 10 student from Chipulukusu Compound, who had been praying for her own Bible. Living under the care of guardians with little income, Janet’s face lit up as she received the Bible she longed for — a moment that drew applause and emotion from nearby visitors.

Throughout the event, staff and volunteers shared stories of how the Bible is changing lives across Zambia — from prison inmates finding hope, to rural communities hearing Scripture in their mother tongues for the first time.

As the Trade Fair continued, the Bible Society’s stand became more than just an exhibition spot; it became a meeting point for faith conversations, spiritual encouragement, and cultural pride in Zambia’s rich linguistic diversity.

By the end of the week, hundreds had visited, many signed up to become members, and countless hearts were touched. Through its presence at the Ndola Trade Fair, the Bible Society of Zambia reminded the nation that while industries build the economy, it is God’s Word that builds lives
