Over 200 young people empowered with Free Bibles.

The Bible Society of Zambia believes that in order for any country or Society to raise God fearing future leaders, there is need to prepare or train them from a tender age. (Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. – Proverbs 22:6)
The Bible Society of Zambia through its scripture engagement program has embarked on a program targeting the young people. The program involves distribution of free Bibles and other scripture booklets to the juveniles. It also involves sharing the word of God and helping them embark on a Christian Journey.
Last week the Bible Society of Zambia was in Lusaka’s Chunga area where over 200 scriptures were distributed to the young people who were drawn from different Schools, Churches and other groups in the area. The good Samaritan Programs Officer and the distribution team were on hand to distribute the Bibles and share the word of God. It was interesting and encouraging to see the willingness and joy with which the young people received the Bibles and their interest to learn more of the word of God. One of the beneficiaries, Owen Matambo narrates; “Before I was given this Bible I was using a torn copy with many pages of the Old Testament missing. With this gift I can now read the Bible in full.’’
The Bible Society of Zambia hopes to extend this program to other parts of the country as well in the near future.
